Icelandic Poppy
Latin name - Papaver nudicaule.
Nudicaule literally meaning ‘naked stem’ in Latin. A perennial, believed to have originated from the northern areas of North America and Asia. A big pollinator attraction – bees, butterflies, & birds.
I think I’ll always love Icelandic poppies. Their crepe paper like petals, their dancing stems, their bold centres, their glorious names….. Flamenco, Champagne Bubbles, Illumination, Meadow Pastel, Victory Giants, Wonderland, Oregon Rainbows, Party Fun, Summer Breeze, Solar Fire.
