Diet of a Bee
The best way to help our friendly fury striped two winged friends is to help provide them with a varied and balanced diet throughout all the seasons. Here are some bits and pieces they love to feast on.
WINTER
During the cooler winter months, Winter Heather (Erica carnea), Primrose and evergreen Clematis will provide much needed food for late flying or early emerging bees.
SPRING
Hellebore, Crocus and Snowdrops are wonderful bee food for early spring.
SUMMER
Delights such as lavender, Alliums and Foxgloves will go down a storm with your local bee population.
AUTUMN
Nectar sourced for autumn can be found in Dahlias (single-flowered), Ivy, Honeysuckle and Asters.
